Good Girl Gone Rogue by @andaleebwajid #Contemporary #EnemiesToLovers @bookreviewtours

When Inaya Khan is told she’s meeting a boy for marriage, the last thing she expects is for beetroot juice to play spoilsport. As CEO of Ixora Skincare, Inaya has achieved money, fame and power all at the age of twenty-seven. But to her mother, the only labels that apply to her are overweight and unmarried.

A CEO himself, but of a struggling startup, Ayaz Ahmed has no time or energy to even think of marriage. Until his mother shows him Inaya’s picture and he’s instantly smitten. Despite a disastrous start that included beetroot juice spewage, multiple suitors for Inaya’s hand and judgy onlookers, Inaya and Ayaz are instinctively drawn to each other.

Until Ayaz finds out that his company is being taken over by none other than his prospective bride-to-be. Ayaz may be smitten but he isn’t stupid. And he most certainly isn’t letting Inaya take his precious company from him.

Can love find a way to survive in the heart of business deals, mergers and acquisitions? Or will this bad girl have to go rogue to bring her own ‘Ranveer Singh’ home?

Read an Excerpt from Bad Girl Gone Rogue

Keeping my face as blank as possible, I sat down and tried my best not to sit too close to him. He sat down as well, a smile on his face, looking sheepish because my mother and his family were looking at us keenly.

‘Sameena, there’s someone I wanted you to meet,’ Ammi said to his mother and taking the hint, both his parents got up and walked away with Ammi, leaving the two of us alone at the table. We weren’t alone per se, because there were so many people around but I still felt my stomach tie up in knots.

Whenever I was in Bangalore, a part of me forgot that I was the CEO of a successful company and not just my parents’ daughter. I had spoken to thousands of men probably, men who worked for me, men whom I had interviewed for jobs at my company, vendors and marketers, and other CEOs. But here, all that was swept away as I became Naseem and Aftab Khan’s younger daughter. Their younger unmarried daughter.

Straightening my back, I turned to him, really hoping there wouldn’t be another disaster like the one that had nearly ruined my dress. I briefly wondered where Ayaz was. Maybe he’d been embarrassed enough to leave.

I put him out of my mind and turned to the man I was sitting with. He looked at me appraisingly, his eyes resting on my shoulders and then glancing down my bare arms. Women were wearing short, strapless dresses here at the party. This was nothing compared to that. I gritted my teeth, thinking that if he was going to shame me for my outfit, I was going to throw this…this…I picked up the glass of juice on the table and sniffed it slightly and then nearly gagged. It was beetroot juice.

#BookReview His Accidental Princess: A Passionate Indian Royal Bodyguard Romance (The Royal Guard Book 1) by Kyra Seth

About The Book

All that Sona Singh has ever wanted was a family of her own. Abandoned as a baby, and raised in an orphanage, she wants roots. All she gets is a grumpy cat.

All that Maj. Samar Deshmukh has ever wanted redemption. A chance to break free of the memories that still hold him prisoner. What he gets is having to babysit an accidental princess and her man-eating cat.

Can Sona ever find happiness with a man who refuses to love her for fear of losing her?

My Thoughts

Well, another romantic book and me, what a combination.

Let’s start with Sona, she is like most of us, crazy, vulnerable, yet fierce in her choices. She knows what she wants, and that is a family.

Whereas, Samar doesn’t even want to heal from the pain that is eating him from the inside.

When Samar and Sona meet, it was a crazy ride promised by the author.

The biggest strength of the book is its character portrayal and humorous dialogue. The banter between Samar and Sona is hilarious. There is not a single dull moment in the book. Also, the writing is crisp and fast.

The biggest weakness is overdramatization and predictability.

This book is perfect to read on a lazy afternoon.

#BookReview The Dream: A Funny and Feel-Good Small Town Romantic Comedy by Whitney Dineen

About The Book

Ashley has loved the same boy since high school. She knew Davis Frothingham was special even before he championed her at her senior prom. She also knew he was completely out of her league.

Years later, her attraction for him is still there, but Davis? He doesn’t even remember her.

Can Ashley accept that she’s good enough for Davis? And can Davis learn to love a girl from the wrong side of the tracks?

My Thoughts

I really don’t enjoy reading romance book nowadays. Anyhow, I brought this book as it was free on Kindle and started reading.

It is a love story like any other love story. The story is simple, sweet, and engaging. However, I think the book will appeal to teenagers, not seasoned readers.

Romance book lovers will definitely enjoy this book.

About the Author

USA Today Bestselling author Whitney Dineen is a rock star in her own head. While delusional about her singing abilities, there’s been a plethora of validation that she’s a fairly decent author (AMAZING!!!). After winning many writing awards and selling nearly a kabillion books (math may not be her forte, either), she’s decided to let the voices in her head say whatever they want (sorry, Mom). She also won a fourth-place ribbon in a fifth-grade swim meet in backstroke. So, there’s that.

#BookLove Pratham Aalo by Sunil Gangopadhyay

About The Book

It encompasses the second half of the nineteenth century of Indian history, especially the ongoing Bengal Renaissance.

The story of the novel centers on many historical figures including Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, George Curzon, etc.

My Thoughts

This is the second part of the historical novel written by Sunil Gangopadhyay (the first part is Sei Somoy). Like the first novel, this book also has many historical figures are their stories.

My personal favorite is Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar story. His struggles with widow remarriage and work against polygamy are described beautifully.

An English translation of this book is available on Amazon.

I simply love, love this book. Fellow bookish friends, please read this book.

#BookLove Sei Somoy by Sunil Gangopadhyay

About The Book

The story centers around the life of Kaliprasanna Singha, along with legendary historical figures including Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the reformer; Michael Madhusudan Dutt, the poet; the father and son duo of Dwarkanath Tagore and Debendranath Tagore; Harish Mukherjee, the journalist; Keshab Chandra Sen, the Brahmo Samaj radical; David Hare and John Bethune, the English educationists; and others.

My Thoughts

This is the first part of the brilliant historical fiction series written by Sunil Gangopadhyay. The book revolves around various historical figures and the main character is Kaliprasanna Singha.

It is impossible to talk about this book in a few sentences. The best justice would be to read it.

An English translation of this book is available on Amazon.

Any person even with a remote interest in reading must read this book.
